Under-nutrition continues to pose challenges to Uganda’s children, but there is limited knowledge on its association with physical and intellectual development. Inadequate dietary intake of nutritious food and infections including diarrhea diseases are major causes of growth faltering among infants . Under-nutrition may start as early as during foetal life as a consequence of inadequate food intake of the mother as well as strenuous work during pregnancy.
